What does John 20:22 mean on receiving the Spirit?
Download The expression, “You are in trouble now”, may apply to this audio discussion, lol! Well not really but some will not like this discussion, and one in particular, that is James White. Did I say James White, oh no, what are you doing Kelly? You know full well that James White is going to hear about this and as always refute those who oppose the errors of Calvinism, but will he? Well, welcome to another interesting audio discussion that we had in Paltalk. In this discussion Tim played a clip that got the chat room going and we never looked back, well so to speak. This was a simple open chat night and was supposed to be starting a series through the book of Colossians but that was prolonged until next week. The clip that that was played was from James White from his show called the "Dividing Line" from 1/9/2007. In the audio it was said to be from Jan. 7, 2007 but it was not accurate and for those who wish to listen the discussion between James White and his caller, it started around 43min. and continued on to 56:13. In the clip that was played by Tim it starts around 53:42 for those who just want to know the details. Our room was another big one and we had lots of good chatters on the microphones and in text, to say the least. There was differing views for sure but we did have a great room with openness and fairness. We welcome those of you who have listened to share your comments and for those who have not please listen and share later. I would like to encourage those of you who are are truly studiers of God's Word to take notes, this is an important subject in general. Even though this mostly had to do with some issues of Calvinism on people being born again or not born again before the work of the cross, and receiving the Spirit when Jesus said they did in John 20:22 or a later date in Acts 2? There are some people who say the early disciples did not actually become born again, new creation in Christ, spiritually alive within until Acts 2, but is this true? What about Old Testament saints of God, were they born again the same way as believers are in the New Testament? Lots of interesting thoughts in this discussion, that is for sure. I am sure we will have interesting emails and even comments here concerning this, thanks Tim!!! Well that is the great thing about open chat, you never know what is going to happen, but I am thankful for our discussion. Friday Night Apologetics Blog!!!
