Witnessing To Jehovah's Witnesses
We
have information on what Jehovah's Witnesses believe and tools for those who
want to know how to witness to Jehovah's Witnesses.
What do Jehovah's
Witnesses believe that is different from what Christians believe?
-
Jehovah's Witnesses
believe that God is only using the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society
Organization to guide His people today. The Scriptures say nothing
about this, but the Scriptures teach that God's people are lead by the
Holy Spirit moving through His people. It is true that God has used the
Apostles and Prophets for guidance & authority and
God works through the body of Christ, but nothing in the New Testament
teaches there will be only one religious organization for guidance and
truth.
-
Jehovah's Witnesses
believe that only the Father is God and that the Trinity doctrine is a
lie from Satan. Christians also believe that the Father is
identified as being by nature God, but the Bible teaches there is one
God revealed in three distinct personages. (Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit)
-
Jehovah's Witnesses
believe that Jesus is a created god, also known as Michael the
archangel. The Bible teaches that Jesus is by nature eternally God
and is the Creator of all things. Jesus is not a created god but the
very God of creation, and that includes Him creating Michael.
-
Jehovah's Witnesses
believe that the Holy Spirit is God's power surge or active force, not a
distinct person. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is used to
accomplish things, but in no way does the Bible teach that the Holy
Spirit is not a personage.
-
Jehovah's Witnesses
believe that a person must be a part of their religious organization in
order to be saved and have eternal life. The Scriptures do not teach
you have to be a part of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society for
eternal life, but the Scriptures teach that if a person comes to know
the Jesus of the Bible and put their trust in Him they will have eternal
life.
The above 5
points are just the tip of the iceberg on what Jehovah's Witnesses believe
compared to what Christians believe. However, Jehovah's Witnesses do
believe the Bible to be the Word of God and that is where truth is found.
So, when witnessing to Jehovah's Witnesses the Bible is the common ground
which can be agreed upon for truth vs. error.

Resources for Witnessing to Jehovah's Witnesses
-
Reasoning From The
Scriptures (a book that Jehovah's Witnesses use when going door to
door to share what they believe. If you examine it and get prepared in
advance you can use this to share the true Jesus and Gospel of the Bible
with them)
-
New World Translation
(official Bible which Jehovah's Witnesses believe to be the Word of God
without error. But you can share from it things that go against what
they have been taught)
-
Magazine called Should
You Believe In The Trinity? (This is a good magazine to expose
because in it there are many misquotes and errors which the Watchtower
gave as proof. Knowing how to use this magazine is good when witnessing
to Jehovah's Witnesses)
There are many other
books and resources to use when witnessing to Jehovah's Witnesses. If you
are looking for information and want references please let us know and we
will get you that information. If you are wanting advice or some additional
